General Manager

Brooks Busey grew up along the St. Johns River, spending his summers working in local marinas and boatyards. His connection to Huckins runs deep—his father has owned a 56’ 1964 Huckins Linwood for more than thirty years, giving Brooks a lifetime of hands-on experience in classic boat ownership and maintenance.
After earning a business degree from Stetson University in 1999, Brooks launched his full-time career in the marine industry. In 2001, he purchased Sadler Point Marina and spent more than two decades expanding its service operations, often leaning on his friend Buddy Purcell at Huckins just upriver for advice. He also owned a 40’ Huckins, which he and his family enjoyed together for many years. In 2022, Brooks partnered with Windward to further grow and strengthen the Sadler Point marina business.
In 2025, Brooks joined Huckins as General Manager, bringing with him decades of marine service expertise, operational leadership, and an unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction. He’s known for walking the yard in his signature straw hat—so keep an eye out.
Brooks has served on the boards of the St. Johns Riverkeeper, The Florida Yacht Club, and The Jacksonville Commodores League.
He and his wife, Jennie, are now enjoying life as empty nesters, with their son and daughter off at college. In their free time, they care for animals on their farm and get out on the water whenever possible.
